He said, <strong>\u201cDon\u2019t follow your bliss. Follow your heartbreak.\u201d<\/strong> That\u2019s a powerful way to reframe your life purpose.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>I realized that my bliss and my heartbreak both point in the same direction. I follow my joy and my heartbreak simultaneously because they\u2019re two sides of the same coin.<br \/><\/em><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div><em>Andrew\u2019s statement reminded me of this quote from Kahlil Gibran\u2019s <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0394404289\/dexteritysoft-20\/\"><em>The Prophet<\/em><\/a><em>: <\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><br \/><\/em><strong><em>The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.<br \/>Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter\u2019s oven?<br \/>And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?<br \/>When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.<br \/>When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see in truth that you are weeping for that which has been your delight.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div><strong>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>For me it was a broken heart from my first love that lead me to look a little deeper, go a little further and burn a little brighter than I would have otherwise &#8211; thanks Sal, looking forward to meeting young Ella. <\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>On another level perhaps seeing pain in places like Ethiopia, The Middle East and Brazil has definitely inspired my work, and from a more everyday British angle the suffering of people working in soul destroying jobs in the the UK.
