I recently returned from two days of foundation training with Newfield Europe in Amsterdam and was impressed.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Their coaching takes into account language, emotions and the body \u2013 so is more holistic than much coaching. As an example I enjoyed getting clarity about what exactly is meant by trust &#8211; sometimes an emotion, sometimes a moral judgement, sometimes a mind-body evaluation of sincerity, reliability and competence. As well as looking at the linguistic distinctions around thi<a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/SRAzU9b4CBI\/AAAAAAAABFA\/htPeb23mbsU\/s1600-h\/PA280024.JPG\"><img id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264764399577991186\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/SRAzU9b4CBI\/AAAAAAAABFA\/htPeb23mbsU\/s200\/PA280024.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>s we also experienced trust through bodily exercises lead by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/www.curtiswatkins.com\">Curtis Watkins<\/a>, a student of my teacher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.strozziinstitute.com\/faculty.htm\">Richard Strozzi Heckler<\/a>. I enjoyed his work over the course and how it was combined with more traditional &#8220;teaching&#8221;. The other course leaders <a href=\"http:\/\/center.spoke.com\/info\/p7Z6wdz\/DanNewby\">Dan Newby<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pub\/dir\/aboodi\/shabi\">Aboodi Shabi <\/a>struck me as both highly professional and very caring, and my fellow participants were also a pleasure to be with, bringing a wealth of knowledge from various nations and areas of expertise (business, UN, dance, coaching, etc).<\/p>\n<div>I also had a couple of days to explore the laid back canal culture charm of Amsterdam \u2013thanks to locals Erik and Laura for hosting me and organising the conference respectively. I saw Van Gough\u2019s the Sunflowers up close, got a foot massage from a nice Chinese lady (no nothing else), was embarrassed by the stoned Brits, met-up with <a href=\"http:\/\/integraleurope.org\/\">Integral Europe<\/a> leader Ewan Townhead and visited local <a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/SRAyKh2l8UI\/AAAAAAAABE4\/fItq3M1jK4M\/s1600-h\/PA290032.JPG\"><img id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264763120863539522\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/SRAyKh2l8UI\/AAAAAAAABE4\/fItq3M1jK4M\/s200\/PA290032.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>aikido Sensei <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aikido-world.com\/photoshots\/Wilko%20Vriesman.htm\">Wilko Vriesman<\/a>, who\u2019s subtle style of aikido was wonderfully different from other Aikikai schools I\u2019ve come across.
