To me it exemplifies \u201cmanager as superhero\u201d or the <a href=\"http:\/\/psychology.about.com\/od\/leadership\/a\/great-man-theory-of-leadership.htm\">\u201cgreat man\u201d theories of leadership<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/integrationtraining.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Cat-walk.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2642\" title=\"Cat walk\" src=\"http:\/\/integrationtraining.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Cat-walk.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a>It shows how there is a part of culture that wants bosses to be perfect and invincible rather than human; wants them to know everything rather than being able to not know. To me this is an outdated and dangerous way of looking at management and leadership and I would encourage any bosses out there not to boss like a boss. Equally the English slang to \u201cboss someone around\u201d (i.e. give orders rudely) is also not useful boss behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>What then do we replace it with? More listening then telling, more emotional intelligence than repression, more cooperation than commands, more questions than pretending we have certain answers?
