Useful for developing practices or for surveying field later in the course. His other books are good too<\/p>\n<p><em>The Leadership Dojo &#8211; Richard Strozzi Heckler <\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nThis is a concise and learned\u00a0introduction to embodied leadership\u00a0from one of the leading names in the field. The Anatomy of Change is also a classic<\/p>\n<p><em>Breakfast Essays: Brief Writings on Body Awareness and Life (e-book) &#8211; Paul Linden<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nDigestible stories about embodiment<\/p>\n<p><em>Rip it Up &#8211; Richard Wiseman<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nThe science of embodiment<\/p>\n<p><em>Ken McLeod &#8211; Wake Up To Your Life<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nThe best book on meditation I know of. John Whitmore also a classic<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Useful Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; As you like<\/p>\n<p><em>Bone Breath and Gesture &#8211; Don Hanlon Johnson<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; A collection of writings from many seminal names in the field<\/p>\n<p><em>The Intuitive Body &#8211; Wendy Palmer <\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nAn older one from Wendy<\/p>\n<p><em>The Anatomy of Change &#8211; Richard Strozzi Heckler <\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nAnother classic<\/p>\n<p><em>An Unused intelligence &#8211; Andy Bryner and Dawna Markova<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nA readable book on embodiment at work<\/p>\n<p><em>Dance Movement Therapy &#8211; Katya Bloom and Rosa Shreeves<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nA short book of games and exercises from dance movement therapy<\/p>\n<p><em>Emotional Anatomy &#8211; Stanley Kellerman<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nBeautifully illustrated if slightly inaccessible classic<\/p>\n<p><em>The Silent Pulse &#8211; George Leonard <\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nPoetic book on our rhythms and fundamental nature<\/p>\n<p><em>Sweat your Prayers &#8211; Gabrielle Roth <\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nOn Five Rhythms dance.<\/p>\n<p><em>Laban for All &#8211; Jean Newlove and John Dalby<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nOn Laban movement analysis<\/p>\n<p><em>Body-Centred Psychotherapy &#8211; The Hakomi Method &#8211; Ron Kurtz<\/em><em> <\/em><br \/>\nA readable book on a method of body therapy<br \/>\n<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Other meditation books<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Body &#8211; Paramananda &#8211; A short guide to mindfulness and the body i<\/em>s a good and light as is <em>Martine Bachelor&#8217;s Meditation for Life (nice pictures too!). <\/em>Anything by <em>Thich Nhat Hanh <\/em>(accessible), <em>Jon Kabat Zinn <\/em>(scientific) <em>or Pema Chodron <\/em>(heart-led)<em> <\/em>is also good. <em>Shinzen Young<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em><em>s <\/em>(head-led) <em>i<\/em>n depth and very logical and Noah Levine is the pun- rock Buddhist alternative!
