First UK somatics get-together:
Brighton, Sunday 27th April. 12-6pm<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Somatics is the study of the conscious, feeling, intentional body, and has applications in exercise, health, business <\/a>and a range of other areas. More:<\/a><\/p>\n

Confirmed for this UK somatics get-together so far are a bunch of interesting folks from across the British Isles with a wide variety of areas of somatics expertise to share:<\/p>\n

Dawn Bentley (Buckingham) Executive Coach\/Facilitator
Francis Briers (Brighton) – Presenting somatic awareness games (including Exploding Zombie Tag!)<\/span>
Jill Collett (Oxford) – working with business and leading a meditation on the day
Lauren Dowse (Lewes) – Nia dance teacher
Matthew Dodwell (Bath) – Conscious Embodiment
Nadia Franchi (B’ton) Holistic Life Coach
Peter Hamill (B’ton) – Working with somatic corporate training and coaching
Adrian Harris (Portsmouth) Embodiment research
Clare Myatt (Birmingham) – working with somatic psychotherapy and coaching
Michael Rose (B’ton Integral Salon)
Michel Tetley (B’ton) – Presenting Somatic Psychotherapy (as pioneered by Stanley Keleman)
Mark Walsh (B’ton) – working with somatics business and exercise (Holistics) presenting Being In Movement or Original Play.<\/p>\n

The day will begin with lunch and discussion at Infinity Foods Cafe<\/a> (veggie) then we’ll move to a matted area for practical work. Those sharing will lead short taster sessions from 2-6pm.<\/p>\n

There will also be an aikido class in the evening (7-8.30) for those who do that, with Tom Helsby Sensei.

The cost will be to cover dojo rent – \u00a310 per person . The point of the day is just to have fun, share ideas and start to form the basis of a somatics community in the UK.<\/p>\n

While this event is not open to the general public, anyone who has teaches or has studied a body discipline in some depth is welcome: yoga instructors, dancers, martial artists, meditators, bodyworkers, etc.<\/p>\n
