{"id":5867,"date":"2007-10-04T21:54:00","date_gmt":"2007-10-04T21:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.wpdude.com\/test\/?p=5"},"modified":"2007-10-04T21:54:00","modified_gmt":"2007-10-04T21:54:00","slug":"being-in-movement-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.integrationtraining.co.uk\/blog\/2007\/10\/being-in-movement-poland\/","title":{"rendered":"Being In Movement Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:130%;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117610407517341586\" style=\"FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 227px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 272px\" height=\"212\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVnjSbpx5I\/AAAAAAAAAB0\/m5OFCRwHFTA\/s200\/063_63.JPG\" width=\"227\" border=\"0\" \/>I\u2019ve recently returned from a trip to Poland training Being in Movement with Paul Linden Sensei.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paul Linden is a senior member of <a href=\"http:\/\/aiki-extensions.org\/\">Aiki Extensions<\/a>, director of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.beinginmovement.com\/\"> Columbus Center for Movement <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beinginmovement.com\/\">Studies<\/a> , founder of Being In Movement\u00ae and in my opinion one of the best body-mind teachers in the world. He has spent a lifetime applying principles from aikido, Feldenkrais and other arts to a wide variety of areas, especially abuse recovery, conflict resolution and sports.<\/p>\n<p>As ever I found his wo<a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVlvCbpx1I\/AAAAAAAAABU\/MVGUy4xVoTc\/s1600-h\/057_57.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117608410357548882\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand\" height=\"202\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVlvCbpx1I\/AAAAAAAAABU\/MVGUy4xVoTc\/s320\/057_57.JPG\" width=\"266\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>rk in Poland accessible, humane, and powerful. I was particularly struck by Paul\u2019s teaching method, which is to ask people to experience and e<a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVosibpx7I\/AAAAAAAAACE\/1ap6XLfFWNo\/s1600-h\/061_61.JPG\"><img id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117611665942759346\" style=\"FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVosibpx7I\/AAAAAAAAACE\/1ap6XLfFWNo\/s200\/061_61.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>valuate for themselves, first a habit and then an alternative. This seems to really get to people and overcomes \u201cyes but&#8230;\u201d resistance.<\/p>\n<p>The Polish group was about half martial artists and half others, including psychotherapists, dancers and NLP teachers. We worked with Paul\u2019s tool-bag of relaxation, breath, intention, power, love and yielding and had an intense and enjoyable time. I\u2019m now looking forward to spending a month with Paul in Ohio shortly, as his work seems very relevant to my own.<\/p>\n<p>Our Polish host was Przemyslaw (pro. \u201cShem\u2019eck\u201d) Gawronski kindly he put me up in his<a href=\"http:\/\/tanren.pl\/content\/view\/95\/47\/\"> Warsaw aikido school<\/a>, which like all dojos was a home from home for me. Paul Linden also led Przemyslaw\u2019s \u201cIntegration Class\u201d \u2013 for parents and childre<a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVmdybpx3I\/AAAAAAAAABk\/7KScVxvGxeM\/s1600-h\/050_50.JPG\"><img id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117609213516433266\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/RwVmdybpx3I\/AAAAAAAAABk\/7KScVxvGxeM\/s200\/050_50.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>n to practice aikido together. His \u201cSamurai Patty Cake\u201d game was a winner.<\/p>\n<p>After the seminar I traveled to historic Krakow. This Polish cultural and educational centre felt like a Harry Potter set at times and I met plenty of friendly people there. My hosts in Krakow were Pawel and Pawel , trainers from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aiki-management.pl\/szkolenia_biznesowe-glowna.html\">Aiki Management<\/a>, recommended to me by Lance Giroux of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.samuraigame.org\/index.html\">The Samurai Game<\/a>. I also joined in their aikido class, it was interesting to work with Polish bodies which have a unique feel.
