Linda and Ken are long-term students of<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bafonline.org.uk\/baf\/ksensei.html\"> Kantesuka Shihan<\/a> and I first met them ten years ago. I had the pleasure to attend an aikido class taught by Linda recently, while in London. Normally in London I visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airenjuku-london.org\/\">SOAS dojo<\/a>, which as it is several floors down, the joke is it would be the only dojo to survive a nuclear war. But anyway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Linda&#8217;s McQuillan&#8217;s aikido is both relaxed\/sensitive and powerful\/positive, a balance of the two sides of aikido that I rarely find. She taught clean, good quality basics emphasising posture, connection and zanshin. The other students were friendly and the training atmosphere relaxed without being slack. I highly recommend the dojo and wish them success, especially as I know that r<a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/Rw52yibpyOI\/AAAAAAAAAEk\/2tvaZ1tKjPg\/s1600-h\/PA080241.JPG\"><img id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5120160436975159522\" style=\"FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; CURSOR: pointer\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_8vF1TTyV5ww\/Rw52yibpyOI\/AAAAAAAAAEk\/2tvaZ1tKjPg\/s200\/PA080241.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>enting a permanent space in London is not a cheap venture.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from North London, here are some other dojos in London I recommend:<\/p>\n<p>East London\/ UCL dojos under Mire Zloh and Brabara Sotowich of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukaonline.org.uk\/\">UKA <\/a>(traditional)<br \/>Chiba Senseis old dojo for intense physical practice &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londonaikikai.com\/\">Shinmeikan<\/a><br \/>Kilburn &#8211; a ki orientated dojo (amusing webite too)<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meidokan.org\/Welcome.html\">David Rubens,<\/a> a senior Yoshinkan instructor and AE International Board member<br \/>Adrian Tyndale&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aikidouk.co.uk\/\"> Tomiki aikido dojo<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;d like to introduce The Wellbeing Centre in North London where I&#8217;ve just done aikido.
