Here’s another extract from my upcoming book The Body and Leadership – How to get out of your head and on with your life. This time some simple exercises from chapter 1.

Exercise 2  – ”My body is….”

We all have cultural and personal narratives about the body, some of which are “transparent” influencing us out of sight. Many of your body-dialogues will be likely revealed as you read this book. To kick-start this process start by saying to yourself “my body is..” and seeing what occurs – e.g.”my body is useful” “my body is ugly” my body is British”. Do this at least twenty times in quick succession, preferably with a friend asking, and you may be surprised what is revealed. Write some of your answers below:
